Pretty in Pink

Made in August 2015 from the instructions for making a dahlia flower found at http://ada-quilling.blogspot.in/2014/04/dalii.html

Background is done with tissue paper and homemade gesso over newspaper (but unfortunately, the print does not show through). Edges done with Picked Raspberry distress ink.

Blue Orchids

Made in April 2014.

That is homemade gesso background at the centre. As supplied in an earlier post, the links for making gesso at home are:

Here's a video on how to make spirals/ tendrils:

For the twigs, I have coiled the paper even tighter than what is shown in the video, and kept on gluing it during the coiling.

A Good Luck Card

This card was made in March 2014. I loved it too much to give it away and ended up hoarding it. It finally found its way to a dear friend at the inauguration of a new office. Am so glad it found the right recipient.

The background is made with homemade gesso. Here are a couple of links for making gesso at home

I used talcum powder and also some powdered marble powder instead of plaster of paris. Also, I did not use white paint and hence, the off white effect.
